Some
students that attend The Handwriting Clinic have vision related learning
differences which contribute to difficulty writing within the lines, using
good “touchpoints” on the writing lines, and eye fatigue. Some
children benefit from getting a good vision exam from a doctor that
specializes in looking for vision related learning differences. These
doctors have a special interest in our students and work closely with us.
Our therapists have been trained to look for some vision related problems that
might indicate a need for a referral.
Many
students may be in need of occupational therapy, physical therapy or speech
therapy. Rather than put up each individual clinic, please go to the
following link at SI Challenge, a support group and information service for
parents of children with sensory integration needs. Click on the
resources page for links to clinics, therapists and health professionals
in the metroplex.
